Meet the Authors: Passionate Educators and Leaders in Their Fields

Dr. Tashana D. Howse, co-author of Percentages by Mom, is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in mathematics education and an unwavering commitment to supporting youth in achieving their fullest potential. As the Director of Educational Services at the Stellar Achievement Center, Dr. Howse co-founded Stellar to help students of color develop 21st-century skills, providing access to STEM opportunities and inspiring students to pursue STEM careers.

Currently, Dr. Howse is also an associate professor of mathematics education at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), where she teaches mathematics content courses, supervises student teachers, and researches areas such as culturally responsive teaching and the use of technology in education. Dr. Howse has shared her expertise widely, offering professional development for math teachers across the United States and presenting at conferences nationwide. Her academic journey includes a bachelor's and master's degree in mathematics education from Florida State University and a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Central Florida.

Angela Williams, co-author of Percentages by Mom, is an experienced educator with over 15 years in the field. She began her career teaching middle school students in Palm Beach County, Florida, and later became an eighth-grade English teacher in Broward County. Driven by a passion for curriculum and instructional development, Angela earned her master's degree in curriculum and instruction, eventually becoming Department Chair for Language Arts and Reading. Angela continues to expand her reach by delivering professional development with Solution Tree and Unbound Ed across various states, helping teachers implement effective instructional practices and adapt to changes in education.
